What We Are Looking For

Ours is a growing medical practice and we are currently in need of a Certified Medical Assistant to join the team. The ideal candidate must be professional in appearance and demeanor. Additionally, the candidate will maintain an organized and efficient work area, while being able to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining medical records and will have a strong knowledge of records retention. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other medical professionals. The candidate must be comfortable working in an open office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic office procedures and medical terminology.

  • Follow instructions from the physician and or office manager.

  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of ethics and standards of professional behavior.

  • Perform clerical work and basic administrative tasks.Explaining intake forms to new patients.

  • Answer phones with professionalism and courtesy·

  • Greet patients and other visitors.

  • Prepare charts, correspondence, forms, reports and records in an accurate and timely manner.·

  • Create new files as well as maintain and update existing files.

  • Answer patient questions.

  • Prepare medical records of patients while maintaining HIPPA compliance.

  • Keep inventory of supplies needed for treatments and exam rooms, while monitoring the need for

    reordering such supplies.

  •  Receive and store supplies for treatments and exam rooms.

Requirements

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint, in particular)

  • Have some office clerical or assistant experience.

  • Familiarity with emails and scheduling tools.

  • Bilingual in Spanish required.

  • MA Certification preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Dependent on experience

Medical specialties: Weight Management & Nutritional Counseling

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 hours per day

Work setting: Clinic, In-person, Office

Ability to commute/relocate: San Antonio, TX 78218: Must have means and ability to reliably commute to or must plan to relocate to the San Antonio area before starting work (Required)
